Classroom learning

Duration

In the classroom the course will take 18 days to complete including taking the exam.  This is based on 5 days attendance per week. 

About the course

If you are interested in working in a security/ stewarding role at festivals, sports stadiums, concerts and other events, then this is the course for you!

​Upon successful completion of the course you will be eligible to apply for an SIA Licence, valued at £190, at no cost to you!

​During this course you will study:

  • Highfield Level 1 Employability Skills, including Help with Applying for Jobs;

  • Gateway Level 1 Award in English: Speaking and Listening, Reading and Writing;

  • Gateway Entry Level 3 Certificate in Mathematics; and,

  • Highfield Level 2 Award in Stewarding in Spectator Events

  • Highfield Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry

There is also an option for you to study the Award for Working as a CCTV Operator within the Private Security Industry.

What will I be able to do after completing the course?

Upon successful completion of the course you will be eligible to apply for an SIA Licence, valued at £190, at no cost to you!

How will I be assessed?

Examination: There will be one examination date in respect of English and Mathematics and another in respect of the Award for Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry.

 

Portfolio of Evidence: Employability and Stewarding will be assessed by way of a Portfolio of Evidence.
