Duration

In the classroom the course will take 2.5 days to complete including taking the exam.  This is based on 2.5 days attendance per week.  Classes start at 10am each day and finish at 4pm with 30 minutes for lunch.  Studying this course online will take approximately 3 weeks.

About the course

Level 1 English is an ideal starting point if you have reasonable literacy skills and want to improve these.

There are 3 individual learning aims:

  • Speaking and Listening;

  • Reading; and,

  • Writing

 

You will learn how to communicate with others and enhance your language ability to develop valuable skills that you can use in everyday life, as well as in the  workplace.

 

What will I be able to do after completing the course?

Progress to a number of occupationally relevant qualifications.

How will I be assessed?

For reading and writing you will be assessed through a portfolio of evidence. Additionally your tutor will arrange an assessment, which will be recorded, as part of English Speaking and Listening.

Entry requirements?

None, although there is an entry test to assess the most appropriate level.
