16-18 Year Old Learners

What is Study Programme?

Unless you have decided to become an Apprentice, learners who are aged 16-18 are required to undertake a 'Study Programme'.

 

A 'Study Programme' is made up of a number of elements, including:

  • Main Learning Aim;

  • English (up to and including Level 2);

  • Mathematics (up to and including Level 2); 

  • Enrichment Activities; and,

  • Work Experience.

What levels can I study?

Study Programmes are generally available to learners who are aged 16-18 between Level 1 and Level 3.

If the total planned hours are less than 150 in any Academic Year, the requirement to study English and Mathematics up to and including Level 2 is removed.

How much does a Study Programme cost?

Learners aged 16-18 are exempt from the need to pay a fee, regardless of prior learning or experience.
